LJUBLJANA - The government is to hold a regular weekly session, whose agenda includes a bill on the Roma, a semi-annual report on the preparations for Slovenia's EU presidency in the first half of 2008, and an 18-month presidency plan drafted by the presiding troika composed of Germany, Portugal and Slovenia. LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to resume the regular session at 10 AM to debate amendments to the road safety act, amendments to mobile workers working time act and a bill on state guarantee for loans taken by the Motorway Company (DARS).
TIRANA, Albania - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to attend a two-day summit of Central European Initiative, the forum that brings together 18 countries. The event will open with a dinner hosted by Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha. The plenary session will be held on Friday. On the sidelines of the summit, an Economy Ministry delegation is due to take part in the panel of economy ministers.
LJUBLJANA - An international conference on human security, terrorism and organised crime in the Western Balkans is to open at 1 PM, sponsored by the Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences, ETC Graz and Tilburg University on behalf of partners in the HUMSEC project. The conference runs until 25 November.
VIENNA, Austria - The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is to convene the first regular session under the chairmanship of Slovenian Ambassador Ernest Petric.
LJUBLJANA - The leadership of the largest opposition party, the Liberal Democracy (LDS), is expected to do a postmortem on the local elections and debate convocation of a congress. A statement for the press is scheduled for 5 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The opposition National Party (SNS) is to present at noon a draft of its motion to oust Labour, Family and Social Affairs Minister Janez Drobnic.
LJUBLJANA/MARIBOR - Rudolf Maister Day, a holiday marking the day in 1918 when General Rudolf Maister took control of Maribor and in effect secured what later became Slovenia's northern border. Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to address at noon a ceremony in front of the Defence Ministry headquarters. President Janez Drnovsek is meanwhile expected to decorate several military figures.
MARIBOR - A panel is to open at 10 AM to discuss the theme "Slovenia's Independence 15 Years Later". Attendance is expected by Education and Sport Minister Milan Zver.
VIENNA, Austria - Speaker of National Assembly France Cukjati and National Council President Janez Susnik are due at the 7th regional conference along with the speakers from Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The meetings is to open in the afternoon.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - A session of the EU Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council, to be attended by a Slovenian delegation.
THE HAGUE, Netherlands - A Slovenian delegation is due to take part in the first part of the 5th session of the assembly that brings together signatories to the Rome Statute on the International Criminal Court. The session, running until 1 December, is to debate a report on the court's activities, including preparations for the first trial.
TRIPOLI, Lybia - The final day of the EU-African ministerial on migration and development, attended by Interior Ministry State Secretary Zvonko Zinrajh on behalf of Slovenia.
PORTOROZ - A two-day conference of asset management companies is set to begin at 10:45 AM.
LJUBLJANA - A press conference at noon is to present the main ceremony to mark the centenary of the death of poet Simon Gregorcic.
LJUBLJANA - A ceremony at 7 PM is to mark the 60th anniversary of the Ljubljana-based Faculty of Economics.
