LJSE: Big Names Take Indices to Record Heights
Ljubljana, 22 November - Gains by the majority of the blue chips, especially the smaller issues, provided a boost for the main indices on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange Wednesday. While the main market SBI 20 index that passed 6,000 points for the first time in its history on Tuesday added 28 points to 6,033.08, the SBI TOP blue chip index was up 7.63 points to 1,428.37 today.
Drug maker Krka dominated trading in terms of turnover with deals worth SIT 372m (EUR 1.55m), but it added only 0.46% to SIT 188,221 (EUR 785.43).
Energy company Petrol also went up by 0.46% to SIT 115,357 (EUR 481.38), while the national telco Telekom Slovenije added 0.32% to SIT 70,728 (EUR 295.14). Retailer Mercator was up 1.04% to SIT 48,177 (EUR 200.79).
Capitalising on a deal with package delivery firm UPS on daily flights to Ljubljana, logistics company Intereuropa soared 1.31% to SIT 6,074 (EUR 25.35) and airport operator Aerodrom Ljubljana gained 5% to SIT 12,576 (EUR 52.48).
The free market was much more placid, the only noteworthy exception being asset management firm Zlata Moneta II, which was down 0.47% to SIT 500 (EUR 2.09) on deals worth SIT 92m (EUR 384,000).
Total volumes topped SIT 1.36bn (EUR 5.7m), with an additional SIT 440m (EUR 1.8m) coming in block trade.
