Ljubljana, 23 November - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 24 November:

LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to resume the regular session at 10 AM to complete a general debate on amendments to workers participation in management act and debate the impact of the EU sugar reform on the only Slovenian sugar plant in Ormoz.

TIRANA, Albania - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to attend the plenary session that is to wrap up a two-day summit of Central European Initiative, the forum that brings together 18 countries. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - Austrian Justice Minister Karin Gastinger is to wrap up her two-day stay in Slovenia by visiting the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court. Gastinger and Slovenian counterpart Lovro Sturm are also expected to make statements for the press at 11 AM. (STA/PHOTO)

LENART - Speaker of Parliament France Cukjati is to address the main ceremony on Rudolf Maister Day, marking 23 November 1918, when General Maister took control of Maribor and in effect secured what later became Slovenia's northern border; at 8 PM.

LJUBLJANA - An international conference on human security, terrorism and organised crime in the Western Balkans is to continue. The event is sponsored by the Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences, ETC Graz and Tilburg University on behalf of partners in the HUMSEC project. The conference runs until 25 November.

LJUBLJANA - Minister of the Environment and Spatial Planning Janez Podobnik is to hold a mid-term press conference at 10 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Minister of Higher Education, Science and Sport Jure Zupan is to hold a mid-term press conference at noon.

LJUBLJANA - Several human rights groups are set to distribute white ribbons at the outset of a campaign against violence against women; at 9:45 AM.

LJUBLJANA - A panel is to open at 8:45 AM to debate policies in the employment of foreigners, victims of human trafficking. The debate is organised by Kljuc, the NGO fighting human trafficking. A press conference is scheduled for 11 AM.

DESTRNIK - Andrej Horvat, a state secretary in charge of development, is set to visit the region of Podravje to present the construction of a mega amusement park which is part of the government resolution on national development projects for 2007-2023. A press conference is scheduled for 12:30 PM.

BRDO PRI KRANJU - Franci Kodela, the head of the logistics centre for EU presidency, is speak to the press at noon about the plans, costs and the progress in the construction of the Brdo convention centre.

LJUBLJANA - The leadership of the coalition People's Party (SLS) is set to debate the topics and goals until the 2008 general election. A statement for the press is scheduled for 4 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The award ceremony at 8 PM will draw the curtain on the 17th Ljubljana International Film Festival. (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - The European group of the International Federation of Actors (EuroFIA) is to hold a two-day meeting to discuss proposed EU legislation regarding the status and work of employees in cultural institutions. The meeting opens at 9:30 AM.
