Vecer Decries Haider's Latest Stunt With Bilingual Signs

Maribor, 24 November - The Maribor-based daily Vecer is critical of the latest move by Carinthian Governor Joerg haider, who removed a bilingual sign in Schwabegg (Zvabek), which he had put up in May with Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel, with a sign in German that also contains a smaller board with the Slovenian name for the village. For the daily, this round off the "dark circle of Carinthia's anti-Slovenian politics", which started right after the 1920 plebiscite.
