Ljubljana, 27 November - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 28 November:
RIGA, Latvia - Prime Minister Janez Jansa is to attend a two-day NATO summit, accompanied by Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel and Defence Minister Karl Erjavec. Officials from 26 member states are expected to focus on the alliance's transformation and its peacekeeping operations, in particular the ISAF mission in Afghanistan. The summit is to open with a dinner hosted by NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
LJUBLJANA - Parliament is set to resume the regular November session at 10 AM to debate Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek's annual report. Prior to the session, the heads of parliamentary factions are expected to meet the speaker to agree on an extraordinary session of parliament over the dismissal of Labour, Family and Social Affairs Minister Janez Drobnic. LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Home Policy, Public Administration and Justice Committee is to convene at 8 AM to debate the relocation of the Strojans, the Roma family from Ambrus, at the request of the opposition Liberal Democrats (LDS).
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is to attend a session of EU finance ministers, and open a display of Slovenian euro coins. (STA)
TAMPERE, Finland - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to attend the EU-Mediterranean ministerial, which is to wrap up.
TRIESTE, Italy - Ethnic Slovenians in the provinces of Trieste, Gorizia and Udine are to elect three members of the Parity Board, a body overseeing the overdue implementation of the Slovenian minority act.
MUNICH, Germany - Justice Minister Lovro Sturm is to wrap up a visit at the invitation of Bavarian Justice Minister Beate Merk.
LJUBLJANA - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate is to hold a mid-term press conference at 11 AM, while Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant is to address the press at noon.
LJUBLJANA - Environment Ministry State Secretary Marko Starman is due to meet Deputy Macedonian Environment Minister Sonja Lepitkova and State Secretary Dejan Panevski to determine the priorities of cooperation between the two ministries.
LJUBLJANA - The final meeting within the project under the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) Directive is to open at 11 AM, to be attended by Environment Minister Janez Podobnik, Bavarian Environment Minitser Werner Schnappauf, Germany Environment Ministry State Secretary Michael Mueller and Belgian Ambassador Jean-Louis Mignot.
LJUBLJANA - Electricity system operator Eles is to meet the press at noon to speak about this year's investment and future plans.
LJUBLJANA - The 22nd Slovenian Book Fair is to get under way with an award ceremony at 6 PM. As part of the fair, which will be open for visitors between 29 November and 3 December, Mladinska knjiga publishers are set to launch a new book by President Janez Drnovsek. "Bistvo sveta" (The Essence of the World) is a follow-up to "Misli o zivljenju in zavedanju" (Thoughts on Life and Awareness), a best seller in Slovenia and Croatia.
