Press Says Ljubljana Police Chief Sacked to Save Minister Mate

Ljubljana, 28 November - Slovenia's leading dailies agree on Tuesday that the chief of the Ljubljana police, Branko Slak, was dismissed in the aftermath of the police clashes with the locals of Ambrus to save Interior Minister Dragutin Mate. Dnevnik goes as far as to suggest, however, that Mate as well as police chief Joze Romsek should get the boot as well.
