LJUBLJANA - Prime Minister Janez Jansa is to hold a press conference marking the second anniversary of the inauguration of the government cabinet; at noon. (STA/PHOTO)

BRUSSELS, Belgium - The two-day EU Justice and Home Affairs Council is to come to a close with the interior ministers, among them Slovenia's Dragutin Mate, adopting a new time plan for the expansion of the Schengen no-border zone to the bloc's newcomers. (STA)

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to address the plenary session of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) ministerial, which is to come to a close later in the day. (STA)

BERLIN, Germany - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to meet his opposite numbers from Germany and Portugal, which form the next presiding EU troika. The three are to unveil their 18-month presidency programme.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - A two-day EU Competitiveness Council, also attended by Slovenian Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak, is to close with a resolution.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - A two-day meeting of the EU's parliamentary speakers, including Slovenia's France Cukjati, and the European Parliament dealing with Europe's future is to end with a resolution and an address by the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.

HELSINKI, Finland - Education Minister Milan Zver is to wrap up his participation in the two-day informal meeting of EU education ministers.

SKOPJE, Macedonia - State Secretary for European Affairs Janez Lenarcic is to begin a two-day visit to Macedonia, where he will meet the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for EU affairs, Gabriela Konevska Trajkovska.

LJUBLJANA - Social Democrats (SD) head Borut Pahor is to unveil at 1 PM his proposals for successful EU presidency in the first half of 2008.

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Consumers' Association (ZPS) is to present to the press at 11:30 AM the information it has gathered about price hikes in the run-up to the euro changeover. (STA/PHOTO)

MARIBOR - The election for the chancellor of the Maribor University, Slovenia's second biggest university, will be underway between 10 AM and 16 PM. Standing for the post are incumbent Ivan Rozman and challenger Danijel Rebolj.

LJUBLJANA - International Human Rights Day is to be marked with a ceremony and a Ljubljana Faculty of Law panel on the constitutional checks concerning the rights of minorities in Austria, Italy and Slovenia; at noon.
