BERLIN, Germany - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to meet his opposite numbers from Germany and Portugal with whom Slovenia is to make up an EU presiding troika in 2007 and 2008. The three are to unveil their 18-month presidency programme.
SKOPJE, Macedonia - State Secretary for European Affairs Janez Lenarcic is to wrap up a two-day visit to Macedonia after meeting members of the parliamentary European Affairs Committee and Committee for the Implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, as well as the Erwan Fouere, the EU ambassador there.
LJUBLJANA - A news conference will present the 2006 national recognition for business excellence. The event at 10 AM is to be attended by Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak, Science and Technology Minister Jure Zupan and Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant. LJUBLJANA - The commission for the sale of a 55.35% stake in the Slovenska industrija jekla steel group is to begin talks with undisclosed bidders. Unofficial information suggests two bidders come from Germany and one from Russia.
LJUBLJANA - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk and director general of the Tax Administration Ivan Simic will talk about the personal income tax for 2006 at a news conference scheduled for 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - The ten most influential legal experts in Slovenia as chosen by legal software applications maker IUS Software will be conferred their awards at 9 AM. Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant is expected to be on hand.
LJUBLJANA - Janez Podobnik, the leader of the coalition People's Party (SLS), will assess the party's activities and comment on other topical issues at the second anniversary of SLS's entry into the government coalition. At 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is due to welcome the incoming Greek Ambassador Dionyssios Coundoureas at noon.
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenska kinoteka cinematheque will mark its 10th anniversary at a press conference scheduled for 2 PM.
