LJUBLJANA - On International Human Rights Day Slovenian human rights activists will join world-wide protests over the deaths of the former Russian spy Aleksander Litvinenko and journalist Anna Politkovskaya with a rally in front of the Russian embassy in Ljubljana at 10 AM.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak is due to attend an informal working dinner of EU ministers responsible for telecommunications and the information society.

RADOVLJICA - The main ceremony to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of Antona Tomaz Linhart (1756-1795), a poet, playwright and historian who authored the first Slovenian comedy.

GOTHENBURG, Sweden - Slovenia face a decider with Poland at the Women's European Handball Championships. After losing two straight games in Group B in the first round, they still have a chance to qualify for the next round if they defeat Poland in the game starting at 2:15 PM.
