Ljubljana, 11 December - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 12 December:

LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly is to come together at 10 PM for an extraordinary session dedicated to the opposition-sponsored motion to oust Health Minister Andrej Brucan. The debate could extend into Wednesday. (STA/PHOTO).

LJUBLJANA - State Secretary for European Affairs Janez Lenarcic, the German Ambassador to Slovenia Hans Joachim Goetz and the Portuguese Ambassador to Slovenia Maria do Carmo Allegro de Magalhaes are to present to the public at noon the 18-month programme of EU presidency, prepared by the three countries. BRUSSELS, Belgium - The two-day meeting of EU ministers responsible for transport, telecommunications and energy, including Slovenian Transport Minister Janez Bozic, is to come to a close. The ministers are to discuss the headquarters of the Supervisory Authority of the European satellite navigation system Galileo, among other issues. Slovenia is involved in a bid to host the body.

LJUBLJANA - A session of the Strategic Council for Economic Development is to get underway at 4 PM. The agenda includes the 2006-2007 economic trends and the long-term financial sustainability against the backdrop of the tax reform, to enter into force in 2007, and the 2007/08 budget.

LJUBLJANA - The Preseren Fund is to announce at noon the winners of the Preseren Prize, the highest state honour for achievements in culture, and the smaller Preseren Fund Prizes. (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - Public sector trade unions are to hold a press conference on the public sector wage system and the negotiations on the collective agreement for the public sector. The conference, scheduled for 10 AM, is also to be attended by Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant.

LJUBLJANA - The Justice Ministry is to speak to the press at noon to look back on the first year of the Lukenda project for eliminating court backlogs by 2010.

MARIBOR - The Public Energy Agency is to host at 11 AM a conference focusing on the most important aspects of the liberalisation of the electricity market.

LJUBLJANA - The Environment Ministry is to outline at noon the results of an inventory of flora and fauna as well as habitats registered as part of a cross-border project of sustainable development with Austria.

TUHELJ, Croatia - Spa operator Terme Olimia is to hold a press conference at 5 PM marking the conclusion of works at subsidiary Terme Tuhelj.

LJUBLJANA - The International Institute for Middle East and Balkan Studies is to host a lecture on the EU's role in the Middle East in association with the Government PR and Media Office and the Center Evropa information centre; begins at 5 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Human rights organisation Amnesty International Slovenije is to stage an event at 8 PM to mark International Human Rights Day.

LJUBLJANA - A publication on the 250th anniversary of the birth of mathematician Jurij Vega is to be unveiled at 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - The 3rd Animateka international festival of animated film is to get underway, lasting until 16 December.

VOLCJI POTOK - The real Finnish Santa Claus, who will be visiting Slovenia between 12 and 14 December, is to hold a press conference at 3 PM.
