Cebulj Not in Favour of Ideologically Balancing Constitutional Court

Ljubljana, 20 December - The terms of six out of nine Constitutional Court judges will expire in 2007, which has given rise to calls that the appointments should seek to balance the court politically and ideologically. However, Janez Cebulj, the current president of the Court, disagrees. The idea of an ideologically balanced court - and hence the copying onto the court of the bipolarity of parliament - is not well conceived, he said in an interview for STA.
