Slovenia Marks 16th Anniversary of Referendum on Independence

Ljubljana, 22 December - Slovenians overwhelmingly backed independence in a referendum 16 years ago on Saturday. The official celebration of Independence and Unity Day, observed on 26 December - when results of the referendum were announced - will be held on Friday, preceded by a special parliamentary session.
