Ljubljana, 3 January - Below is a schedule of events for Thursday, 4 January:
BRDO PRI KRANJU/LJUBLJANA - Secretary General of Arab League Amr Moussa is to arrive for a working visit to Slovenia upon the invitation of Prime Minister Janez Jansa (meeting scheduled for 12:30 PM). The agenda is to be dominated by inter-cultural dialogue and European neighbourhood policy as well as topical international issues. Moussa is also scheduled to meet President Janez Drnovsek (11:15 AM) and address Slovenian diplomats at an annual meeting at Brdo Mansion (3:30 PM). BRDO PRI KRANJU/JABLE - A two-day annual meeting of Slovenian diplomats is to open at 2 PM, focusing on Slovenia's preparations for its stint at the helm of the EU in the first half of 2008. The meeting will be addressed by Prime Minister Janez Jansa, Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel and Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa. LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is set to convene its regular weekly session at 10 AM. The agenda includes amendments to the inspection act. A press conference is scheduled for 2 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions (ZSSS), Slovenia's largest trade union alliance, is to hold a press conference at 11 AM to outline its expectations for 2007.
LJUBLJANA - The team overseeing the euro changeover at NLB, Slovenia's largest bank, is to speak to the press at 1 PM.
IZOLA - The municipal council in the coastal town of Izola is expected to meet at 4 PM to appoint the mayor following the run-off in which incumbent Breda Pecan edged Tomislav Klokocovnik by only two votes. The decision is to be taken after the Nova Gorica Administrative Court has recently ruled against election repeat.
