MEP Peterle: Recognition Crowned Independence Efforts

Ljubljana, 13 January - Alojz Peterle, member of the European Parliament and Slovenia's first prime minister following independence in 1991, has told STA that international recognition represented the "crowning achievement of the independence project". Slovenia was recognised by the Vatican on 13 January 1992 and by the EU two days later.
