MONDAY, 22 January
        LJUBLJANA - The Development Partnership, a bipartisan forum established by Prime Minister Janez Jansa in a bid to promote consensus-based decisions on reforms, is to be in session.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel and State Secretary for European Affairs Janez Lenarcic are due at the session of the EU Council for General Affairs and External Relations.
        STRASBOURG, France - The National Assembly delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe is to attend the first part of the 2007 regular session (until 26)
        LJUBLJANA - The government commission in charge of the Roma is to hold a session.
        NOVO MESTO - The Roma Association is to hold a working meeting.
        COPENHAGEN, Denmark - Education and Sport Minister Milan Zver is to pay a two-day visit to Copenhagen, where he is due to attend an informal meeting of OECD ministers responsible for vocational training.
        LJUBLJANA - The Economy Ministry Tourism Directorate and the Slovenian Tourist Board are to launch a central booking system.
        WETZLAR, Germany - Slovenia are to take on Tunisia Kuwait in the third round of the men's Handball World Championships.

TUESDAY, 23 January
        LJUBLJANA - A delegation of the Czech Deputy Chamber Foreign Policy Committee is to meet Speaker of Parliament France Cukjati and the head of the Foreign Policy Committee Jozef Jerovsek.
        LJUBLJANA - Human Rights Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to address topical issues at a press conference.
        LJUBLJANA - An association of NGOs is to present its proposal of constitutional amendments aimed at increasing Slovenia's birth rate.
LJUBLJANA - The Health Insurance Institute is to give a first estimate of its financial operations in 2006 at a press conference.
        KLAGENFURT, Austria - The National Council of Carinthian Slovenians (NSKS) and the Christian Cultural Association are to present the Tischler Award.
        LJUBLJANA - An exhibition of Italian prints from the 16th and 17th centuries is to open at the Cankarjev dom gallery.

WEDNESDAY, 24 January
        LJUBLJANA - The Credentials and Privileges Commission of the National Assembly is to take its position on the nominees for central bank governor and constitutional judge, Mitja Gaspari, and Franc Grad, respectively.
        LJUBLJANA - Portuguese Defence Ministry State Secretary Joao Mira Gomes is to visit the Defence Ministry headquarters.
        LJUBLJANA - Young European Federalists and the European Commission Representation in Slovenia are to host a panel on Slovenia's EU presidency, featuring the head of the EC Representation Mihela Zupancic, European Affairs State Secretary Janez Lenarcic and German Ambassador Hans-Joachim Goetz, among others.

        LJUBLJANA - The Peace Institute and the info centre of the Council of Europe are to release the 5th issue of Intolerance Monitoring Group Report, focusing on the separation between the state and the Church.
        LENDAVA - The Nafta Lendava refinery and its Austrian partner CMB Maschinenbau Cristoph Group is to unveil a project for the construction of what will be one of the biggest biodiesel plants in central Europe.
        LJUBLJANA - Union Olimpija is to face Israel's Maccabi in the 13th round of the Euroleague.

FRIDAY, 26 January
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to take part in a meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
        MADRID, Spain - State Secretary for European Affairs Janez Lenarcic is to take part in a informal meeting of Europe ministers from the EU member states that have ratified the European Constitutional Treaty.
        LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Tourist Board is to release the 2006 results of the Slovenia tourist industry.
        CELJE - Days of Comedy are to get under way.

SATURDAY, 27 January
        LJUBLJANA - The largest opposition party, Liberal Democracy (LDS), is to hold a decisive congress at which frontman Jelko Kacin is to seek a vote of confidence.

SUNDAY, 28 January
        LJUBLJANA - A memorial ceremony to mark the 62nd anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
        HELSINKI, Finland - Interior Minister Dragutin Mate has been invited by his Finnish counterpart Kari Rajamaki to attend a meeting called "Friends of Lapland". (until 30)
