LJUBLJANA - The Credentials and Privileges Commission of the National Assembly is to take its position on the nominees for central bank governor and constitutional judge, Mitja Gaspari and Franc Grad, at a session that gets underway at 9 AM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Portuguese Defence Ministry State Secretary Joao Mira Gomes is to visit the Defence Ministry headquarters.
LJUBLJANA - Members of the parliamentary Defence Committee are to visit the Defence Ministry to inspect documents regarding the purchase of 135 armoured personnel carriers from Finnish defence contractor Patria. Opposition lawmakers have claimed Defence Minister Karl Erjavec has misled the public over the purchase price of the APCs, which will end up being dearer than promised.
LJUBLJANA - Logistics company Intereuropa is to host a business meeting at 9 AM themed "Kosovo - Challenge for Slovenian Business". Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to deliver the opening address.
LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) is to hold a press conference at 11 AM to speak about key problems faced by Slovenian companies in switching to the euro.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Radovan Tavzes, the head of the Environment Directorate at the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, is to take part in a meeting of a high level group on environmental policy.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary Commission for Relations with Slovenians Abroad is to hold a session at 2 PM to discuss a strategy of relations with Slovenians abroad.
LJUBLJANA - PM Janez Jansa is to hold a meeting with ambassadors to Slovenia at 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - Young European Federalists and the European Commission Representation in Slovenia are to host a panel on Slovenia's EU presidency, featuring the head of the EC Representation Mihela Zupancic, European Affairs State Secretary Janez Lenarcic and German Ambassador Hans-Joachim Goetz, among others. At 5 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The Fabula festival of short stories is to get under way.
HALLE, Germany - Slovenia are to take on Germany in round one of the second preliminary phase at the men's Handball World Championships. The game starts at 5:30 PM.
