Ljubljana, 27 January - The appointment of incumbent central bank Governor Mitja Gaspari became questionable after allegations surfaced that Banka Slovenije leaked secret documents to the European Central Bank (ECB). The main opposition party, the Liberal Democrats (LDS), was hit by a new wave of resignations ahead of its crucial congress on Saturday and Human Rights Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek accused the police of carrying out illegal covert surveillance of a Roma family.
