Ljubljana, 8 February - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 9 February:

LJUBLJANA - The National Statistics Office is to release consumer price index data for January, in what will be the first data on inflation since Slovenia adopted the euro. The office is also expected to release the latest economic indicators and social cohesion data for 2004. The press conference is scheduled for 10:30 AM (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary EU Affairs Committee is to meet behind closed doors at 10 AM to discuss positions for the upcoming sessions of the EU General Affairs and External Relations Council, the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council, the Justice and Home Affairs Council and the Education, Youth and Culture Council. Anton Kokalj, who heads the committee, is to address the press at noon.

SEVILLA, Spain - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is taking part in an informal meeting of NATO defence ministers, which comes to a close. The ministerial is focusing on the alliance's operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo as well as NATO's military transformation.

NUERNBERG, Germany - Slovenian Minister of Labour, the Family and Social Affairs Marjeta Cotman is taking part in a conference on the European social model, which is to come to a close.

NAIROBI, Kenya - A five-day annual session of the Global Ministerial Environment Forum is to wrap up. Slovenia's Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik is also attending.

KOPER - An association of World War II veterans is to hold a press conference at 11 AM ahead of 10 February, observed in Italy as a day of remembrance for the victims of post-war killings by anti-Fascist movements and for the Italians who left the land that became part of the former Yugoslavia after WWII.

LJUBLJANA - The Peace Institute is to host a press conference at 10 AM upon the visit by Thaung Htun, UN representative for the National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma, the Burmese government in exile.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - The president and vice-president of the Slovenian Small Shareholders' Association, Kristjan Verbic and Ludvik Toplak, are to take part in the general assembly of Euroshareholders.
