Ljubljana, 11 February - PM Janez Jansa announced this week he would fill the vacant spot of development minister by proposing Ziga Turk, the chair of the Telekom Slovenije supervisory board, for the post. In other news, the main government economic think-tank concluded that the general government deficit rose by 0.2 percentage points in 2006 to 1.6% of GDP. Despite fears of price hikes related to the euro changeover, the Statistics Office found that price fell by 0.7% in January, pushing Slovenia's annual inflation rate down 0.1 percentage point to 2.7%.
