LJUBLJANA - Iztok Jarc, the nominee for the minister of agriculture, food and forestry, is to undergo a hearing before the parliamentary Agriculture, Food and Forestry Committee pending a vote in parliament. The session starts at 4 PM. (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) is to stage a strategic conference on the competitiveness of the Slovenian economy, which will see the participation of Labour Minister Marjeta Cotman and Public Administration Minister Gregor Virant. The event starts at 2 PM. (STA/PHOTO)

ROME, Italy - Rudi Pavsic and Drago Stoka, the heads of the Slovenian Cultural and Economic Association and the Council of Slovenian Organisations, the organisations representing ethnic Slovenians in Italy, are due to meet at 11 AM Enrico Letta, undersecretary in the office of the Italian prime minister.

LJUBLJANA - The Constitutional Court is to present activities in 2006 at a press conference scheduled for 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Prime Minister Janez Jansa is to meet at 11 AM representatives of the Slovenian Lutheran Evangelical Church, headed by Bishop Geza Ernisa. A statement for the press is scheduled after the meeting.

LJUBLJANA - The Health Institutes Association is to hold an assembly at 10 AM to discuss a draft bill dealing with licences to private practitioners for publicly funded health care.

LJUBLJANA - Foundry Mariborska livarna Maribor and civil engineering company Riko are to outline a strategic partnership at a press conference scheduled for 11 AM.

LJUBLJANA - Polling agency Ninamedia is to hold a press conference at noon to unveil the results of an EU-sponsored public opinion survey on the introduction of the euro in Slovenia.
