Ljubljana, 15 February - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 16 February:
LJUBLJANA - Cypriot Foreign Minister Yiorgos Lillikas is to pay an official visit to Slovenia at the invitation of his counterpart Dimitrij Rupel, for talks centred around bilateral cooperation and EU topics. Lillikas is also scheduled to meet President Janez Drnovsek and Speaker of Parliament France Cukjati. Both ministers will be on hand for a press conference at noon. (STA)
BRDO PRI KRANJU - Portuguese Defence Minister Henrique Nune Severiano Teixeria is visiting Slovenia. Talks with his Slovenian counterpart Karl Erjavec are expected to focus on priorities of the consecutive 18-month EU presidencies in defence. Portugal will take over the presidency from Germany in June 2007, followed by Slovenia at the beginning of 2008. The ministers are expected to make statements for the press at 1:30 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Ziga Turk, the nominee for the minister of development, is to undergo a hearing before the parliamentary Economy Committee at 1 PM. (STA)
MURSKA SOBOTA - Representatives of the World Roma Association are due in Slovenia to meet representatives of the Slovenian Roma Association at 11 AM, while a meeting with government officials is scheduled for Saturday.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - Education Minister Milan Zver is to be taking part in a session of the EU Council for Education, Youth and Culture.
LJUBLJANA - The largest opposition party, the Liberal Democracy (LDS), is to address the press at noon to discuss Slovenia's relations with neighbouring countries.
LJUBLJANA - Ludwik Sobolewski, the executive director of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, is visiting Slovenia for talks with the management of Ljubljanska borza. The Warsaw stock market operator is interested in acquiring a 70% stake in its Ljubljana counterpart. A press conference is scheduled for 1 PM. (STA)
KOPER - The mayors of coastal cities Koper, Izola and Piran are to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in Koper's bid to be designated as the European Capital of Culture in 2012. The signing is scheduled for 1:30 PM.
LJUBLJANA - The STA is to release an interview with the outgoing Human Rights Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek (STA).
