Ljubljana, 17 February - Parliament dominated the news this week. The dispute over the naming of a new central bank governor, which pitted President Janez Drnovsek against the coalition, is set to continue after it became clear that Drnovsek's second nominee, Andrej Rant, would not be confirmed. The nominations of two new ministers should proceed more smoothly, as the candidates to take over the agriculture and development portfolios won approval at the relevant committees. Finally, MPs also cleared the defence minister of suspicions that he misled the public in the biggest defence deal so far.
