Hanzek Leaving Transformed Ombudsman's Office After Six Years

Ljubljana, 21 February - As the six year-term of the Human Rights Ombudsman ends on Wednesday, Matjaz Hanzek will pass the baton to Zdenka Cebasek Travnik. This marks the end of a turbulent six years in office which saw Hanzek emerge as one of the most powerful and influential human rights advocates in the country. He kept the promise he made when he was sworn in - to be a thorn in the side of the authorities.
