EU Environment Ministers Reach Accord on Tough Emission Targets
Brussels, 20 February - EU environment ministers Tuesday reached agreement on strict mandatory targets for greenhouse gas emissions, backing a unilateral cut in EU emissions of 20% by 2020 from 1990 levels. According to Slovenian Environment Minister Janez Podobnik, "the burden of determining the criteria" would probably fall on Slovenia.
