Ljubljana, 20 February - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 21 February:
MORAVSKE TOPLICE/LJUTOMER/MURSKA SOBOTA - The cabinet will be visiting the northeastern-most region of Prekmurje, Slovenia's poorest region. The government is first scheduled to hold a working meeting (9.30 AM), followed by separate talks held by the prime minister and other members of his cabinet. Prime Minister Janez Jansa, accompanied by Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik, is to meet representatives of the Roma ethnic community at Moravske Toplice at noon. The government will wrap up its visit in Radenci with a meeting with mayors, business executives, deputies and councillors from the region (6:00 PM). PM Jansa is to hold a press conference at Murska Sobota at 4:45 PM, followed by a press conference featuring Economy Minister Andrej Vizjak, Environment Minister Janez Podobnik and Transport Minister Janez Bozic. LJUBLJANA - Human Rights Ombudsman for the past six years Matjaz Hanzek will hand over his duties to successor Zdenka Cebasek Travnik at 9:30 AM.
LJUBLJANA - Croatian chief-of-staff, General Josip Lucic, is to wrap up his two-day visit to Slovenia by meeting members of the parliamentary Defence Committee; at 12:40 PM.
LJUBLJANA - Former Turkish Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz is to hold a lecture on Turkey and its accession to the EU at the Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences at 1 PM.
LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to decorate several public figures, among them Ernest Petric, Slovenia's incumbent ambassador in Vienna, with the Golden Order of Merit. The ceremony is scheduled for 4 PM (STA)
