Ruling SDS Calls on Defeated Mayor to Resign as MP

Ljubljana, 22 February - Joze Tanko, the head of the deputy group of the ruling coalition Slovenian Democrats (SDS), called Thursday on Breda Pecan to resign as an MP of the opposition Social Democrats (SD) over suspicion of irregularities in her bid to be reelected as mayor in the town of Izola. Pecan rejected the call.
