Ljubljana, 25 February - Schedule of events in the week from 26 February to 4 March:

MONDAY, 26 February
        LOKA PRI MENGSU - A two-day conference entitled "Changing Conditions in the Balkan Countries" on challenges for future cooperation with the EU and Central European countries is to kick off. The event is organised by a group of Slovenian NGOs and Austria's EU Platform.
        LJUBLJANA - Finnish Parliament Speaker Paavo Lipponen is to arrive in Slovenia upon the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart France Cukjati. Lipponen is also to meet the parliamentary committees on foreign policy and EU affairs. He is scheduled to meet President Janez Drnovsek, FM Dimitrij Rupel and PM Janez Jansa.
        BRUSSELS, Belgium - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is to attend a meeting of the eurogroup, an informal grouping of eurozone finance ministers.
        PODGORICA, Montenegro - European Affairs State Secretary Janez Lenarcic is to visit Montenegro upon the invitation of Gordana Djurovic, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration.
        SKOPJE, Macedonia - A delegation of the parliamentary Defence Committee and a National Assembly delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly are to start a three-day visit to Macedonia.
        LJUBLJANA - The Higher Education, Science and Technology Ministry is to present a draft strategy for the development of information society by 2010.
        LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions, Slovenia's largest trade union association, is to outline proposals for changes to the pension and disability insurance act.
        LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to meet Mikhail Svidkoy, head of the Russian Federal Agency for Culture and Cinema.
        ZAGREB, Croatia - Slovenian films "Music is the Art of Time, Lp Film Pankrti - No Fun" by Igor Zupet and "The Grandmothers of the Revolution" by Petra Seliskar are to be presented at the international documentary film festival Zagrebdox.

TUESDAY, 27 February
        SKOPJE, Macedonia - Prime Minister Janez Jansa, accompanied by Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, is to begin a two-day official visit to Macedonia.
        BRUSSELS, Belguim - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is to attend a meeting of EU finance ministers.
        LJUBLJANA - Flag carrier Adria Airways is to present its 2006 results and plans for 2007.
        LJUBLJANA - The Civil Initiative of the Erased, some 18,000 people who were unlawfully removed from Slovenia's permanent residence registry, is to hold a press conference a day after the 15 anniversary of the erasure.
        CANBERRA, Australia - A delegation of the parliamentary Commission for Slovenians Abroad will finish its several-day visit to Slovenians living in Australia.

WEDNESDAY, 28 February
        NOVO MESTO - Government, municipalities, local communities and Roma representatives are to discuss the issue of Roma settlements.
        LJUBLJANA - The assembly of the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia is to appoint a new director general, with Samo Fakin the candidate for a four-year term.
        LJUBLJANA - Retailer group Mercator is to present its 2006 results and the company's plans for 2007.
        PARIS, France - Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk is to meet Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Secretary General Angel Gurria.

THURSDAY, 1 March
        WIESBADEN, Germany - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to attend a two-day informal meeting of EU defence ministers.
        HEIDELBERG, Germany - Education Minister Milan Zver is to attend a two-day informal meeting of the EU education ministers.
        LJUBLJANA - The Hungarian Chief-of-Staff, General Andras Havril, is to arrive for a two-day visit to Slovenia upon the invitation of Slovenian Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff, Lieutenant General Albin Gutman.
        LJUBLJANA - Slovenska kinoteka cinematheque is to hold a press conference on its work in 2006, purchase of new films and a Stanley Kubrick retrospective.
        LJUBLJANA - The cabinet is to hold its regular session.
        
FRIDAY, 2 March
        LJUBLJANA - Upon the invitation of Justice Minister Lovro Sturm, Catherine Margaret Ashton of the British Department for Constitutional Affairs is to arrive in Slovenia.
        NOVO MESTO - Ballet performance "Bygone Celebrations" is to mark a centenary of the birth of the ballet legend Pino Mlakar, who died last year

SATURDAY, 3 March
        KRANJSKA GORA - Slovenia is to host men's World Cup giant slalom.

SUNDAY, 4 March
        KRANJSKA GORA - Men's World Cup season is to continue with a slalom event.
