LJUBLJANA - The Hungarian Chief-of-Staff, General Andras Havril, is to arrive for a two-day visit to Slovenia at the invitation of his counterpart, Lieutenant-General Albin Gutman. Both chiefs-of-staff are to make statements for the press at 12:45 PM, while General Havril is due to meet the parliamentary Defence Committee at 1:15 PM. (STA/PHOTO)

WIESBADEN, Germany - Defence Minister Karl Erjavec is to attend a two-day informal meeting of EU defence ministers. The reduction of the peacekeeping force in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the formation of a civilian mission in Kosovo are expected to top the agenda.

HEIDELBERG, Germany - Education Minister Milan Zver is to attend a two-day informal meeting of the EU education ministers. The agenda of the first day includes a debate on the role of education in the promotion of common European values. On the second day, the ministers are expected to focus on life-long learning.

LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to receive incoming Indian Ambassador Villur Sundararajan Seshadri for a courtesy visit at 11 AM. Earlier in the day the ambassador is to present copies of his credentials to Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel. (STA/PHOTO)

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Slovenian deputies are taking part in an interparliamentary meeting themed "Eurozone - converging or drifting apart?", which is to come to a close.

LJUBLJANA - The European Commission Representation is to hold a press conference at 11 AM to present an anti-tobacco campaign.

LJUBLJANA - A movement for public health and the Slovenian Pensioners' Association are to stage a public debate on planned legislative changes in health care; at 5 PM.

LENDAVA - Refinery Nafta Lendava is to hold a press conference at 11 AM to present its operating results for 2006 and forecasts for 2007.

CERKLJE OB KRKI - The Association of Environmentalist Movements and a civil initiative are to hold a panel at noon on the zoning act for the air base at Cerklje ob Krki.

ZRECE - The farmers association and the green wing of the junior coalition People's Party (SLS) are to hold a panel on the impact of climate change on Slovenian agriculture at 3 PM.

LJUBLJANA - Robert Knight of the Loughborough University is to give a lecture themed "Denazification in Carinthia". The lecture is to be held at 11 AM at the Science and Research Centre (ZRC) of the Slovenian Academy of Arts and Sciences (SAZU).

LJUBLJANA - Slovenska kinoteka is to hold a press conference at noon to speak about the purchase of new films and its work in 2006. The Slovenian cinematheque will also present the upcoming retrospective of films by Stanley Kubrick.
