SCHENGEN: Schengen Preparations Cost Slovenia EUR 300M
Ljubljana, 11 December - The introduction of Schengen standards proved a costly exercises for Slovenia, which according to estimates from its ministries spent a total of EUR 300m on this task, much of that on police. Luckily for the country, it proved very successful in drawing money from a special fund created to aid Schengen hopefuls in setting up the required infrastructure.
