Schedule of Events for Tuesday, 6 March

Ljubljana, 5 March - Below is a schedule of events for Tuesday, 6 March:

LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly is to vote on two ministerial nominees. Iztok Jarc is to be appointed the minister of agriculture, forestry and food and Ziga Turk development minister without portfolio. The session starts at 10 AM. (STA/PHOTO)

LJUBLJANA - The Institute for Macroeconomic Analysis and Development (IMAD) is to present the latest economic indicators and labour market trends at a press conference at 11:15 AM.

PORTOROZ - A two-day conference of cooperatives, dubbed "Between Tradition and Innovation", is to kick off at 10 AM. Participants will be addressed by the head of the Cooperatives Association Peter Vrisk as well as Local Government and Regional Policy Minister Ivan Zagar and Justice Minister Lovro Sturm.

LJUBLJANA - National broadcaster RTV Slovenija is to hold a press conference at 1 PM to outline 2006 business results and present the activities of the supervisory board.

LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to meet Wadie Abunassar, the director of the Israeli International Centre for Consultation and manager of the Slovenia-funded project "Dialogue of Israeli and Palestinian Intellectuals"; at 3 PM.

LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia (ZZZS) is to hold a press conference on the threat to quality and accessibility of public services.

LJUBLJANA - The Oncology Institute is to host an open day as part of the week of fight against cancer. The institution's director general Zvonimir Rudolf is to talk to the press at noon.

LJUBLJANA - The National Culture Council, an independent body tasked with Slovenia's culture policy, is to hold its 9th session at 11 AM. The body is to discuss investments into public cultural infrastructure and the situation of non governmental organisations in culture.

LJUBLJANA - The council of the Cankarjev Dom arts and congress centre is to debate the institution's results in 2006.

LJUBLJANA - The Jurcic Awards for the pursuit of truth in journalism are to be handed out at 7 PM to journalists, freelancers and editors. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The International arts festival Red Dawns is to kick off with a competition for Miss Red Dawns at the Metelkova mesto counter-culture centre.
