Ljubljana, 18 March - Below is a schedule of events for Monday, 19 March:

VIENNA, Austria - Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Janez Podobnik is to meet Mohamed Elbaradei, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Podobnik will acquaint Elbaradei with Slovenia's progress in its search for a radioactive waste repository site, while the pair will also discuss current IAEA issues. (STA)

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Agriculture, Forestry and Food Minister Iztok Jarc is to attend a two-day EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council. The meeting aims among other things at reaching political consensus on the voluntary modulation scheme that has been rejected by the European Parliament which in effect froze 20% of the 2007 rural development budget. LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary EU Affairs Committee is to come together at noon to discuss the political strategy of the European Commission for 2008.

TACEN - Police Director General Joze Romsek is to present at a press conference at 1 PM the annual report on the activities of the Slovenian police in 2006.

SOFIA, Bulgaria - Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Jure Zupan is to begin a two-day visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of counterpart Daniel Valchev.

MILAN, Italy - Transport Minister Janez Bozic is to attend an international conference entitled "Transport and Environment: A Global Challenge Technological and Policy Solutions".

BERLIN, Germany - The president of the opposition Social Democrats (SD) Borut Pahor is to visit Berlin at the invitation of the president of German Social Democrats (SPD) Kurt Beck. Pahor is also to meet Vice-Chancellor and Labour Minister Franz Muentefering.

LJUBLJANA - The 15th Days of Jozef Stefan, organised by the Jozef Stefan Institute, Slovenia's premiere scientific institution, are to get underway at 1 PM with a panel entitled Science and Art - a New Renaissance.

LJUBLJANA - A European Commission-sponsored panel entitled "The Union is a Successful Compromise" is to begin at 4 PM.

PORTOROZ - A three-day conference on district energy, organised by the Slovenian District Energy Association, will get underway at 10 AM.
