The first week of 1995 was very calm in Slovenia, except for the noisy New Year's Eve parties, accompanied by loud petards and other pyrotechnical devices. The issue of the ruling coalition became dominant in the political arena again, with the Christian Democratic Party insisting on their candidate for the post of foreign minister, but it is obvious that Prime Minister will also insist on his own candidate.
