Army Having Trouble Filling Ranks

Ljubljana, 28 April - The Slovenian army is facing a shortage of soldiers less than four years after mandatory military service was phased out and Slovenia switched to a professional army. The Defence Ministry says it is already on the case with a new law dealing with professional soldiers, while experts say a shift is needed in the way the army is perceived by policy makers.
