International Writers' Meeting Began In Bled Today

The 26th International Writers' Meeting, organised by the Slovenian PEN Club, began in Bled today. Raymond Weber, a Deputy of the Council of Europe, gave an opening speech in which he wished over 60 poets and writers from 23 countries much success in their work. After this, poems by a Bosnian-Herzegovinian poet Josip Osti were read in three languages. The General Secretary of the international PEN organization suggested that the title of this year's meeting should be the Biblical quotation: "Am I my brother's keeper?".
