President Milan Kučan's Speech at Diplomatic Reception

President of Republic of Slovenia Milan Kučan in his speech at Monday's new year reception for the diplomatic representatives in Slovenia, which took place in Brdo at Kranj, stressed the importance of peace as the precondition of everything else. "Peace is the value without which all other endeavours remain pointless, even those concerning respect for human dignity, protection of human rights and freedom, welfare, progress, and development," said president Kučan. Doyen, German ambassador Guenther Seibert thanked president Kučan in the name of the diplomatic representatives.
