Weekly Review of Movements in Slovene Economy from 16 to 21 January

Ljubljana, 21 January - At Wednesday's emergency session, parliament discussed Slovene positions in the negotiations with the Consortium of (foreign) Commercial Banks. The session was held behind closed doors. Parliament analyzed various different aspects of the relation between the negotiations with the Consortium and the negotiations on the succession of former Yugoslavia. The MP's discussed the following options: whether to conclude a separate agreement with the investors or to negotiate the payment of foreign debt in a package, i. e. in the framework of Geneva negotiations on succession of former Yugoslavia. Parliament agreed with government's standpoint that Slovenia must insist on current positions in the negotiations with the Consortium.
