Govt Adopts 2008, 2009 Budget Documents, Plans Deficit to Drop

Ljubljana, 29 September - The government adopted on Saturday the proposal for the changes to the 2008 budget and the budget bill for 2009. Finance Minister Andrej Bajuk told the press that the changes to the 2008 budget envisage an increase in revenues by EUR 496m to EUR 8.635bn, while expenditures are to rise by EUR 420m to EUR 8.865bn, putting the deficit at EUR 230m (0.6% of the GDP).
