Ljubljana, 13 October - At the beginning of the week it seemed that the establishment of a new political party (Zares) and energy company Petrol's publishing a takeover bid for Istrabenz would leave the strongest mark on the political and business scenes. Yet the news of the week came on Thursday, when the Supreme Court annulled the 1946 trial against WWII Ljubljana Bishop Gregorij Rozman, who was accused of collaboration, for procedural reasons. After more than a decade of efforts by the Church to get a retrail, the Church and historians aspiring to clear the bishop's name hailed the landmark decision, hoping it might help put aside old divides in Slovenian society.
