New Reprint of Dalmatin's Bible

Ljubljana, 2 February - SLOVENIA/BIBLE/FACSIMILE
The Mladinska knjiga publishing house started celebrating its 50th anniversary by publishing a facsimile of "The Bible" of Jurij Dalmatin of 1583, "the holy book of all Christians, the most magnificent book that had ever been printed anywhere and one of the cornerstones of Slovene literacy", according to one of the two editors of the facsimile Mihael Glavan. Glavan estimated that in Dalmatin's Bible "the Slovene language proved its linguistic maturity by a translation which was not behind other nations".
