8 February - National Day of Culture

Ljubljana, 6 February - On 8 February, the day France Prešeren, the great Slovene Romantic poet, died (1800-1849), Slovenia celebrates a national holiday - the Day of Culture; the beginning of February is therefore marked by numerous cultural events all over Slovenia - literary evenings, presentations of new books, exhibitions etc.
