Disputed Schools Law Voted Down; Govt to Craft New One

Ljubljana, 20 November - The ruling coalition sided with the opposition in parliament on Tuesday in rejecting the controversial government-sponsored motion on the funding of primary and secondary schools by 29 votes against four. The move comes after PM Janez Jansa suggested on Monday the government would cross out the most contentious provisions in order to avoid a referendum.
