REVIEW OF IMPORTANT EVENTS IN SLOVENIA BETWEEN AUGUST 30 AND SEPTEMBER 5, 1992

Ljubljana, 6 September - The first September days in Slovenia were marked by the increase of the political activities. Before the decisive Parliamentary ession on September 9 when deputies should pass the electoral laws, the parties presented their views on everal disputable matters. At this occasion, the opposition parties sharply attacked a series of governmental steps, while parties that support Janez Drnovšek's administration (even thoe not included in it) have strengthened and formalized their coalition. A whole package of electoral laws was discussed also by some parliamentary commissions. Thee discussions showed that besides disputable basic law on elections, there are some other disputable provisions of the law on electoral campaign and of the law on political parties (this one treats open questions of financing the parties).
