Sirše: Tourism Brought 500 Million Dollars in Foreign Currency in the First Eight Months

Ljubljana, 6 September - In his interview for STA, the Minister of Tourism in the Slovenian Government Janez Sirše said that the preliminary data show 4.5 million overnights registered in Slovenia in the first eight months which is about two thirds of the normal season. In August, some tourist capacities were 100% occupied, pointed Sirše. The majority of tourists were domestic, while 35% were foreigners. Inofficial results show that foreign currency income from tourism in the first eight months was about 500 million dollars.
