Delo: Concord in Strasbourg

Ljubljana, 7 October - Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek has been assured by Strasbourg that the Council of Europe will not delay Slovenia's admission. Slovenia's acceptance by an institution which promises to become the catalyst of pan-European cooperation represents a clear political message to other candidates knocking on the Council's door: a precondition for membership is the protection of human rights, especially those of ethnic minorities, writes Božo Mašanović in today's Theme column.
