Delo: Steel fossils

Ljubljana, 14 October - Over the last three years, the steel industry in Slovenia has slowly been sinking into a quagmire. The transfer from a self-managing industry to an industry directly under state control has not stopped this slide. All that was left after this act was a "beautiful written" program meant to restore the financial health of the industry. The program has since seen two cosmetic touch-ups, and the government hasn't even committed itself to carrying it out, writes Tonja Slokar in today's Delo.
