Večer: New Image of the Theater Festival

Ljubljana, 21 October - The year 1992 will be recorded as a year of change in the history of the theater festival Borštnikovo srečanje (Borštnik's Meeting), writes Helena Grandovec in today's Večer. The polemics regarding the conception of the meeting are not forgotten: should it be a kind of all-theater "revue", or should the selection be entrusted to experts, which would inevitably lead to the exclusion of certain theaters? Since the latter alternative prevailed, this year's meeting will include only five out of nine professional theaters in Slovenia. In other words, the festival is becoming even more prestigious than it used to be, thinks Grandovec.
