In the last issue of Gospodarska gibanja (Economic Movements), monthly magazine of the Economic Institute of the School of Law, the distinguished economist Jože Mencinger describes how the foreign exchange market has been organized since the declaration of Slovene independence. He underlines that only last year Slovene exporters lost 612 million German marks due to the unbalanced exchange rate of the Slovene tolar; the importers, on the other hand, earned 645 million German marks.
