PM Touts Economic Success in New Year's Address
Ljubljana, 30 December - The passing year will be remembered as the year of fastest growth and the lowest unemployment rate in Slovenia's history, Prime Minister Janez Jansa said in his New Year's address to the nation on Sunday. It is also the first year that Slovenia ends with a budget surplus, the year when birth rates rebounded after a years-long decline, and the year when Slovenia adopted the euro as the first among the new EU members, Jansa said.
