European Commission Asks Italy to Explain CEMPT Permits Row

Brussels, 18 July - The European Commission confirmed for STA on Friday that it had asked Italy to provide an explanation for the fees Italian police are issuing to Slovenian hauliers because of their failure to produce a CEMPT permit. The hauliers, as well as the Slovenian Transport Ministry, claim the permits are not needed for transfers to third countries.
