SDS Wins Five, SD Three Electoral Units

Ljubljana, 22 September - Although coming second in Sunday's general election, the Slovenian Democrats (SDS) were the most successful party in terms of the number of electoral units won. According to unofficial results, they won in the Kranj, Celje, Novo mesto, Maribor and Ptuj units. The Social Democrats (SD) won in Postojna, Ljubljana-Center, and Ljubljana-Bezigrad.
